What is laser tattoo removal?
Laser tattoo removal is a procedure that uses laser technology to eliminate unwanted tattoos from the skin. Picosecond laser is widely accepted as the fastest and most effective method for tattoo removal.
 
During the procedure, a laser device emits high-intensity light pulses into the skin, specifically targeting the tattoo ink. The laser light breaks down the ink particles into smaller fragments, which are then gradually eliminated by the body's immune system. Over a series of treatment sessions, the tattoo fades and eventually becomes less visible or is completely removed.
 
At BHC Aesthetics we use the PicoSure Pro™ - the world’s most advanced picosecond laser. It is designed to deliver faster and more efficient results than its competitors.
 
The PicoSure Pro™ utilises a picosecond laser system, which emits ultra-short pulses of energy in picoseconds (trillionths of a second). This rapid delivery of energy allows for maximal pigment shattering, precise targeting and minimal damage to the surrounding tissue.
 
Using a combination of 532nm and 755nm laser wavelengths, the device has the capability to target tattoo pigments of all colours. It is important to note that laser tattoo removal does not guarantee complete removal or erasure of the tattoo, particularly for complex or multi-coloured tattoos.
 
What are the benefits?

What is the discomfort level?
Moderate, requiring the use of topical anaesthetic applied prior to and the use of a skin cooling device during the procedure.
Who can receive it?
Anyone, unless pregnant or breastfeeding. 2 week interval required after any prior injectables in the treated area
What is the expected downtime?
Minimal. Immediately after the procedure, it is common to experience temporary mild side effects such as redness, swelling, or blistering resolving within a few days.
